Tamarindo was great.  The bus ride took a little longer than expected and I somehow lost my pants on it, but we arrive just fine.  Of course these weren't the pants I was wearing, but pants that had a really nice pocket for keeping money in it, with velcrow and a zipper, but the pocket's zipper was messed up and wouldn't open.  Now of course this is the safest place to keep the money because if I can't get to it how could a thief, and if a thief could figure out how to open it, I would have probably paid someone the amount of money in that pocket to fix the zipper anyway, so win win.  Anyway, we decided to use the bus time to fix the zipper, finally popped the zipper open, took out the money, but a few hours after we checked into our hotel, realized that the pants were no longer with us.  We like to think someone was eyeing the pants the whole way on the bus and stole them with agility and skill, but I have a feeling it is possible we just left them on the bus.

Anyway, Tamarindo's beaches were beautiful with great sunsets and amazing sand to walk on all day.  The only bad thing people said about Tamarindo was that there were too many tourists, but we must have gotten really lucky because it was practically deserted when we were there.  Of course the town itself stayed very touristy with its Papa John's and Burger King.  We wanted to do a kayak and snorkel trip but no one was offering one without free beer and live music on the boat.  Anytime we asked for just the snorkeling or kayaking they would be like, "Umm..yeah, we don't really have that here..."

So we just chilled and relaxed for a few days, had a nice Shabbat, and I (I up to this point is Gilad, just a little FYI) even took a surf lesson which Gilad was a natural at, or at least didn't fall too many times.

Even at the beach there were crazy amount of animals like huge iguanas, moth hunting lizards, one-clawed crabs (very weird), and a variety of birds.

On the last night after watching the sunset from our regular spot, we found some people playing soccer on the beach and Gilad joined in.  The sand was perfect for everything including soccer, and they played until you couldn't tell the difference between the ball, your teamate, and the goals.

Tomorrow we catch our 6AM bus hopefully ending up in Monteverde, though we have been told be everyone in Tamarindo that we will never figure it out using public transportation.  We'll show those mofos....Pura Vida*!

*Pura Vida means "pure life" in spanish literally, but is used in Costa Rica for everything from "What's the deal sonnnn?!" to "And how might you be doing on this fine evening good sir?"  Basically you can use it at any point of a converstaion with anyone and it makes you look like you know what you're doing.
