I have this characteristic of trusting people that is usually to my benefit. Unfortuntately, last week it was to my detriment. Everyone gets burned and I had two experiences which left me feeling foolish. However, my resilience has kicked in and I feel ready for whatever else this trip has to offer. This trip was meant to be a growing experience. That's not always easily done.

I couldn't have asked for a more restful time in Oxford with my friend, Nic, and her gracious parents. Nic is yet another New Zealand connection as is Tracey, who we saw at the local pub, The Red Lion. We didn't do anything special. However, it's not what you do: it's who you're with after all. The Saunders' family might end up with another daughter if they want one.

It was a beautiful day in London. After applying for my visa at the Chinese Consulate, I fulfilled my goal of doing absolutely nothing in the park. I spent some quality time becoming more acquainted with the new Ash and Coldplay albums. London seems like the right place for such an endeavor. The next week, I get to see my lovely friends Sam, Don, Steve, Ryan, Decker and Kevin. After hours of conversation, I'm hoping for a visit to my favorite restaurant (Wagamama's) and a night or two at the Comedy Store for improv night. Otherwise, I'm content to watch the world go by in my favorite city.
