Home base, as much as there is one for me outside of the US.  So you´re probably wondering 1) what is Alcala De Henares and 2) why is Justin there.  Good questions.

Alacala De Henares used to be the capital of Spain for a short time because of some fun civil wars, but now it´s mainly a 300,000 person strong suburb of Madrid (about 45 minutes out).  It´s other claim to fame is Cervantes, who, of course, wrote Don Quixote.  I´ve even been to his house!  Yippee!  I´m here staying in the house of Javier and Flor Alvarez, family friends.  Javi is a philosophy teacher here, and Flor is a singer in a national choir based out of Madrid.  They´ve got 3 boys (Marcos (14, Javier (12), and Juan (7)), and Flor´s mother, (also named Flor) lives here.  So we´ve got 2 Flors, 2 Javis, and Me, Marcos, and Juan.  Madness.  Anyway, they´ve shown me the unlimited courtesy of letting me crash in their house while I look for work in Madrid.

So you found a job, right (you must be thinking? Well...........

So you found a job, right (you must be thinking)?  Well.....no.  Every avenue got shut down, every option closed.  I´m taking it as Gods way of telling me to go do something else.  To keep busy, I´ve been doing some traveling into Madrid, working on translating a philosophy book written by Javi--which is really good practice for Spanish, and is getting easier--and planning for travel madness stage 2.  What is travel madness stage 2?  Well, I´ll just have to surprise some of you.  These picture are of the family and there place, and of Alcala herself.  It´s been a nice rest, but it´s been a little long, to be honest, especially after my Euromadness month, and I´m ready to get back out there and do soemthing.  Lord willing, I will.

So I know this update has not been the most interesting but hopefully things will pick up.  Oh!  And I finally got my ipod back and my parents were ever so nice as to send over there camera for me to use while I´m here and my other one is collecting dust in it´s non-functioning shell.  So Pictures!!  Lots of Pictures! WHOOOO!
