We arrived in Taupo an hour and a half later than planned due to a wrong turn that went unoticed for about 45 minutes. The scenery was so gorgeous we forgot we were trying to get somewhere!

We had booked the days activity for 2 o clock but it didn't seem a problem that we arrived late!

JUMP!

We climbed into our blue gas man jump suits, hat and goggles and set off for the skies in a shocking pink plane nick named piglet!

Can I just say at this stage that I have never so much as been on a roller coaster so what we were about to do was a bit out of character for me...I must be having a mid life crisis or something. Well I do turn 30 in 2 weeks which is almost as scary!

The piglet climbed to 12'000 feet before a rather scared little man who had joined us earlier was flung out of the window strapped to another bloke. The tin can climbed higher to 15'000 feet before it was our turn. Jim went first and I watched as he jumped out and immediately dissappeared from view.

yeah we love it, bring it on!

Then it was my turn. I was strapped to 'Ollie' a little close for comfort. The guy was a Begbie look a like which unnerved me a touch! However he couldn't have made me feel more relaxed given the circumstances and for some reason I felt quite happy to jump out of the tin can strapped to this bloke I had known for all of 20 minutes and plummet 15'000 feet!

It's difficult to explain the feeling but it didn't disappoint! I got this immediate feeling of falling very fast and my stomach lurching but after a few seconds I relaxed a bit and the adrenalin rush was immense. It was a stunning place to do the jump, the view was beautiful and I honestly enjoyed every minute...I know my Mum and Dad will think I am insane!

After the parachute had thankfully opened we 'floated' gracefully to the ground with the odd stomach churning spin thrown in for fun...I flew like a bird.

Again again again!

excellent - Nat you look proper chuffed. the only thing that comes close to that is my recent night out where i managed to offend Rowetta, Brian dowling and a corrie star whilst thinking i was the queen of hip hop, dancing on a podium with the kids from FAME - no lie- Nat you'd have loved it!
