Incheon - not much to write home about
From Crossing borders & pushing boundaries in Incheon, South Korea on Feb 18 '07
I am currently writing this in Incheon airport - which is 1 hour from Seoul. Yes I havent managed to leave the airport yet!
Well, I had to sleep in a hotel down the road but am back to catch a bus to Ulsan where Rachael lives. I was feeling really proud of myself negiotiating the bus ticket seller to obtain my ticket to Ulsan all by myself, with the bus due to leave 15 mins after I got my ticket - great timing as well. I did have one worry though, I was directed to platform 7 instead of platform 10 that I was expecting. A friendly American in the line asked where I was going, and so I asked him a confirming question to make sure I was in the right place "Ulsan, the bus trip is for 6 hours right?". No, he said, it is only 90 mins. Hmm. Back I go to the ticket seller with my trusty lonely planet guide and pointed to Ulsan on the map, and was informed that she had given me a ticket to Osam instead. Oops! she was very embarrassed, I was just feeling very lucky! First near disaster averted.
First near disaster averted
Now I will go and catch my (hopefully) real bus!
