I had the opportunity to spend 3 months in Santiago de Compostela.

It was the summer of 2004, the saint year of the catholics, the Xacobeo. Thousands of tourists came by pilgrimage to Santiago to see the big Cathedral and to take part on the festivals. Maybe that is why Galician people live a bit separately from these crowds. They speak Gallego which is like Portugeese language.

Santiago has a great cultural life. Hundreds of museums, festivals and concerts are organised for the tourists who come mostly from France, Italy, the UK and the other parts of Spain.

The greatest attraction is the Cathedral. Also its nice to see the San Domingo de Bonaval Park and in the ooposite side of the center the Paseo da Ferradura.
