The Sample Booths & Lunch at the Fuji Cafeteria

I sat in Steve's office & drafted some blog entries.  Then @ 11:00 I headed to take pictures in the bathroom (goes w/ the toilet story).  I tried to find my way to the place where the sample booths were set up, but Fuji's facility is so huge & has multiple floors & hallways I got a little lost.  There's more than one way to get to the same spot.  I ended up asking for help.

We sampled some of the products made w/ oils, soy proteins, coatings, & fillings.  Most of it was sweet food, except for the thing that tasted like crab meat.  Jeff swears it didn't have any fish or seafood in it, but it sure tasted like it - good thing I'm not allergic!!  I didn't want to fill up on the samples because we were going to eat lunch.  The booths were to display samples related to the presentations & other products in development.  It was neat to look at all the different Fuji group projects.

Jeff gave me the option to wait & eat lunch when I got back to the hotel or to eat w/ him in the Fuji Cafeteria.  I chose the cafeteria, of course!  I wanted the full Fuji experience.  I'm glad I did because we sat next to Mr. Nakao & George.  It was nice to talk to George for a few minutes.

I had some kind of Chinese soup & white rice that was really good.  I also tried something else.  Jeff said it was ginko root.  It was different, not really sure how to even describe it.

The cafeteria is apparently free to the Fuji employees,  They walk in, grab their tray & walk along and choose their main course, side dishes & drinks.  It was neat; kinda like high school, except everyone is in their Oompa Loompa suits.  Some of the men were wearing dress pants & shirts and the some ladies were wearing skirts.  It appeared that the women sat together.  I only saw on other female sitting w/ a group of men (other than myself).

I wish I could have taken a picture.  Jeff actually asked me if I wanted to, but I reminded him that there was a "no photo" rule inside the buildings & plant.  I guess it probably would have been ok, but I didn't think I could so I left my bag in the office.

(Gotta go get on my next flight - Detroit to Atlanta - getting closer to home!)

So did your first Fuji cafeteria experience teach you anything? No? Since when are you without your camera??

I did observe a couple things in the cafeteria, but it probably isn't a good idea for me to post them. We left our bags in the office - I didn't think it was a big deal since I wasn't allowed to take pictures. I learned my lesson, next time I go I'll bring it!!
