So, after finding a number of left hand drive vehicles for sale in the UK, mostly in Leicester and Nottingham we decided to set off for the UK. However, just before we left just by chance we spotted a useful vehicle located in Somerset and who would want to journey north when one can go south?

After viewing a couple of vehicles we made up our minds very quickly but it was still registered in Spain so knowing we'd have a bit of a wait we set off to visit friends near Exeter and others in Cornwall.

A few days later, we set off for Eastbourne to stay with Teresa's sister where we ended up staying for 10 days mostly waiting for verification of receipt of funds from overseas to pay for the vehicle. However, in that time managed to purchase bits and pieces incl kitchenware and vehicle accessories.

We eventually headed north to Cambridgeshire, Herts and Middlesex first staying with good friends Annie & Tony where we learnt how to crush apples for cider and then onto John & Pams where we experienced the earliest October snow in 34 years! We made side visits to Mike's Mum and a 75th anniversary of a company we both worked for WAY BACK!

We visited Bodiam Castle which is situated beside the River Rother in East Sussex and was built in the late 14th century by a veteran of King Edward III's wars with France, originally as a coastal defence. In 1385, Sir Edward Dalyngrygge was given permission to fortify his house against invasion from France, but then decided to build a new stone castle a short distance away from the house.

Finally we made our way south to Folkestone with an overnight stop with Colin & Rhona and then onto to Dover to take the ferry back to the Netherlands via Zeebrugge. Our poor patient friends in the Hague had been caring for a large amount of gear whilst we were swanning around the UK!
