We've just arrived in Sanur after a brisk drive from Kuta in a bemo (Rp 80k). There's a wide range of accommodation here from budget to top (e.g. Hyatt) and we've opted for the budget end :o) Although we've found a very nice place with a lovely courtyard with chirping birds and a room we're both delighted with. Sanur from an initial guess seems alot quieter than Kuta (which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all) but still has the massage ladies following you around for business :o)

During the afternoon we crossed the road to the beach and had lunch in Bonsai Cafe, which came recommended. We took in a small stroll along the sand. The shallow water here is alot rockier than Kuta which is a shame but there are some plush places with swimming-pool facilities which you can use if you rent a chair from them. That seems like a plan for tomorrow :o) That night myself and Kev took in a massage and body-scrub (shed dead skin, buff up the tan - what are we like) which was really nice. We had a bite to eat before heading to bed.

The next morning we hit the beach, having breakfast come lunch in Benno's Cafe (just up from Bonsai) which was really nice. We rented a lounger and basked in the afternoon's sun for a few hours. We've decided to leave Sanur behind and head for Ubud. There's nothing wrong with Sanur at all (even though it's the first time on the trip where we've only stayed one night in a place). I can see why many couples and those past the crazy night-life scene choose to stay here. It's much more calm and relaxed with a nice breeze in the afternoon which keeps the heat at bay. We hired a taxi for 40k to bring us the 45 minute drive to Ubud.
