The highlight of this blog is SUMO!!!!  We went to the 9th day (out of 15) of the Sumo Tournament in Tokyo with Kristin's parents, Stephen, and Reva (Phil's brother and his wife).  The tournament comes to Tokyo 3 times each year.  Unfortunately, Kristin & Phil had to leave the tournament early to head to their first day of their Japanese course...so all we got to see were the "scrubs."  Kristin's parents, Stephen, & Reva stayed for the senior matches.  It seemed like the average sumo match lasted about 30 seconds!  The event starts at 8am, but the senior sumo wrestlers don't compete until 3pm.  Anyhow, it was an unbelievable experience!

The rest of the pics are from Kamakura and Yokohama...day trips from Yokosuka.

Of course the day Kristin's parents left was the first time in 3 years that Yokosuka had seen snow.  And we didn't just get snow...it was a blizzard!  The buses from the base to the airport were cancelled b/c the interstates were closed.  It was a rough day, but Kristin's parents finally made it to the airport (although their luggage and clothes/shoes were completely soaked) in time for their return flight.

I would like to plan a trip to Tokyo around 8 days at the end of Dec 08. Any suggestion? How to plan my trip?
