Mayan Adventure begins

I arrived in Cancun a couple of days before Rod arrived from the UK. I stayed in downtown Cancun rather than in the hotel zone - the latter being a bit too Costa Del Sol for my liking. On the first night I met a couple of guys from Brighton, England who took me under their wing for those first couple of days. We spent many an hour sitting in bars drinking 2 for 1 Pina Coladas (I lurrrrrrrrrrve Pina Coladas) & playing pool. We also made it over to Isla Mujeres - a nice laid back but slightly touristy island where we chilled out for a day. Bliss :o)

The day after Rod arrived it was time to meet our tour group. We were quite a small bunch - just eight of us including our tour rep & every one of us from a different country, which was cool... England, Ireland, Wales, Belgium, Germany, Finland, Australia & the USA. The lass from Finland turned out to be totally bananas but provided sufficient entertainment to make her bearable (more on that later).
