Day 1 @ Nagoya

ALAN: We're in Japan again! We took an early flight and arrive at the brand new airport - CENTAIR (中部國際空港) at around 3:30pm. We took the Meitetsu railway (名鐵) to Nagoya station (名古屋站) and then changed for subway to Sakae (榮). Sakae is one of the main shopping areas with numerous department stores, boutiques, restaurants and cafes. We stayed at Tokyo Dai-ichi Hotel Nishiki (東京第一酒店錦). Too bad it was raining outside. Our first stop was Sunshine Sakae - there stationed the ramen street (名古屋麵屋橫丁). There we had the Northern-eastern style miso ramen at a shop called Maruden. Not bad, but not one of the best we had. This was our "first" dinner. Then we visited some department stores (like Maruei and Mitsukoshi) as well as Uniqlo and Muji. Winnie had a cone of rich milk soft cream. We wandered around the underground shops and ended up at Oasis 21 , a new complex which resembles a spaceship! There are some restaurants inside and we had our "second" dinner there - kaiden sushi (迴轉壽司). Opposite to Oasis 21 is the famous Nagoya TV Tower (名古屋電視塔). It was in renovation... too bad again. We headed back to the hotel to finish off our first day in Nagoya.
