Not as per plan!!

Whenever you start your journey (even if it is a random and unplanned trip) you are sure of the first place from where you will start it all. I too had some plans as to how i would go ahead with my journey, but i guess things weren't suppose to happen the way i assumed they would. I was on a 3 month open Delhi-Amsterdam-Toronto (return) ticket and as per my plan i was not going to stay in Amsterdam and was going straight to Toronto. I started my first leg of journey (Del-Ams) with a confirmation that i will get a seat from Amsterdam to Toronto.....guess what?? I land in Amsterdam and they tell me that the flight is full and since i have a open ticket (which was confirmed quite late) so i am on hold which means that i may or may not get a seat on the flight to Toronto and which also meant that if i don't get a confirmed seat i would be spending one day (or even more, depending on the availability) in Amsterdam.

So the best option given to me was that i can travel to NY instead(they had lot of vacant seats) in a flight which was leave before the Toronto flight ......5 seconds is probably the time i took to accept the offer and fly to NY .....since there was no flight to NY after the Toronto flight (and anyways i was to go NY in the later part of my journey). But all this meant that i had to do few cancelations(Toronto to NY flight) and quick reorganizing of my US/Canada tour...but well that was something which i was to do once in NY.....
