Six adventure seekers from Martha's Vineyard landed in Hong Kong June 21, 2008. Ellen, Sheila, Eve, Doreen and Jeannie missed their last day of school on the Vineyard to make their flight out of Boston. Peg, Jeannie's mother-in-law, was not going to miss out on this opportunity, so she packed her bags and joined in.
The week was filled with all things Hong Kong: city views from the Peak, the big Buddha, high tea at the Pennisula hotel, dim sum lunch, shopping in Stanley market, dinner and drinks in Soho, travel on the outdoor "travelator", crossing the harbor on the Star ferry, riding the double decker buses, city views from the Aqua lounge in Kowloon, panda viewing in Ocean Park, and several visits to Smuggler's Pub. Just to make sure that they had the full Asian experience, I ordered a typhoon to be delivered mid-week.

The week went by very quickly. Before I knew it, it was time for me to fly to New York City for an education course. The Vineyard crew stayed in Asia traveling on to Bejing and Xian. It was fun to share my "home away from home" with everyone. I had an excellent summer visiting family and friends in NH, MV, and CA. Now it is back to the new school year in Hong Kong. It feels so much better returning and not having everything be new! Stay tuned for my next adventure during our week break at the beginning of October for "mid-autumn festival".
