We arrived in London on Friday morning.  Marie and I had worked out a loose itinerary to follow, so were both a little annoyed when our group decided to walk across the city to get to our hotel upon our arrival when there was a tube station right there.  But anyway...

We went to the Comfort Inn in Victoria to check-in to discover that Rebecca had made an error in booking our room.  Long story short, only two people could stay in the room without paying an extra 19 pounds per person.  She didn't want to pay that, so she and Enza decided they would go somewhere else.  Meanwhile, Jon, Marie, Kerry, and I still wanted the room, so we ended up paying 50 pounds per night each for a decent sized room in a great location - right next to the Victoria tube station.  That definitely came in handy.

I honestly didn't even feel as if I were in a foreign country

Over the weekend, Jon, Kerry, Marie, and I - and some others when we would meet up with them - saw most of the major sites: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Picadilly Circus, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Tate Britain, the British Museum, Harrod's, (etc.)  We plan to do the other side of the city next time we go.

Overall, London is amazing.  The architecture is beautiful and the sights to see are quite stunning.  However, I honestly didn't even feel as if I were in a foreign country.  A lot of the stores, restaurants, and general dynamic of the people walking around are exactly the same or similar to those at home. It was so much like New York City that I almost felt entirely at home.  Of course, London possesses a great deal more history, but the atmosphere was totally the "Big Apple."   And, of course, I fell in love with London much more so than Oxford.  I'm totally a city girl.

Once again, everyone else wanted to go clubbing/bar hopping on Saturday night after a full day of walking and sight-seeing.  I was exhausted, as I knew a few others were, but of course I was the only one of the girls that didn't go out at 1am.  I was just too tired, but I hate feeling like such an outcast for not even having the desire to go to such an establishment, whether I'm tired or not.  It just doesn't appeal to me, and I don't know that it ever will.

I can't wait to go back.
