It´s autumn here, but you wouldn´t know it from the weather.  It´s strange to see the leaves falling from the trees when the weather´s still near 30 degrees.

I´ve spent the last couple of days out and about with people from the hostel. First, I went with Renato, a Brazllian-Japanese guy from Brazilla, to the huge Recolata cemetary where Evita is buried.

Then we headed across town to MALBA, the city´s modern art gallery which was really good. And to finish the evening, a group of us headed up to the San Telmo district and watched some free jazz, before trying to find a good bar and - unbelievably in the city that never stops - couldn´t find a single one on a Wednesday night.

On Thursday, I went out with English guy Kieran, Asian-New Zealander Chi and Asian-American Yung for the day. First, we cheekily took in the view of the city from the top of the Panamerica Hotel pool balcony on the 23rd floor.  Then we went to the small-but-good folk art museum before dashing to Plaza de Mayo to see the moving weekly march of the Mothers of the Disappeared, old women whose children were kidnapped and tortured by the government in the 70s.

And as is the way in hostel life, we sat on the 6th floor balcony till 2am drinking and chatting.
