From Cumbria (Lake District) we headed to York, via the Yorkshire Dales National Park passing through Harrogate. In York the weather wasn't quite on our side but we made the most of our time in this pretty city. The highlight was a visit to York Minster which took 250 years to build, and just has so much history, we managed to climb the 275 steps to the top of the tower, which offered awesome views of York city and the surrounding district.
After York we travelled through the Yorkshire Moores to the lovely sea side town of Whitby, which put on the sunshine for us. We spent that night in Robin Hoods Bay which is a small settlement about 15min drive from Whitby perched on the cliffs of the North Sea.

The followng day we drove to the Peak District national park, where we had a night with Tony (one of Helen's friends) who took us to Buxton and a night at his local pub called The Wanted Inn. From Tony's it was back to Wendy's for a few more nights before heading back to the Cotswolds.
