Cameron Highlands
From Our Little adventure in Penang, Malaysia on Nov 28 '08
Hi Guys
First of all we will start with a little update on world events and how it effects us. We were both shocked to hear about the attacks in Mumbai especially as two out of the five targets we visited (Leopolds restaurant & CST trains station) we are just glad we got out of India before it all happened. As for whats going on in Thailand, we cross the border on Monday and head for Krabi (south thailand) and don't get to Bangkok until the 6th. As for the flights we can easily get to the islands we will be staying at by train and ferry if there are still problems with the airports. The only time we really need to go to the airport is when we come home in February, so please don't worry!! Our tour leader is keeping us updated and he is not worried as the airports are outside the city, if he really thought there was a problem he would change our intinerary.
Now onto a lighter subject, we are having an amazing time in Malaysia! We have just come back from the Cameron Highlands, where we visited Tea Plantations, Butterfly farms & a little bit of trekking in the Jungle. The highest we went up was 6,666 ft and it was very cold and damp, we now know how you're feeling at home! Jonny was very amused at my rock climbing skills, my legs didn't seem long enough to reach anything! We have some amazing pictures that we want to put up but none of the computers have USB ports but we promise we will as soon as we can. We are loving the food, Stacy thinks she has put all the weight she lost in India back on! Jonny was proud of himself last night as he had what he reckons to be the spicest dish he has had so far and managed to eat it all, it had at least 8 chillis in that still had their seeds.
Thats all for now, hope this has reassured you. There is really nothing to worry about and we would call if there was.
Love you all loads Jonny & Stacy xxx
