Market Day at Bathurst

A quiet day today and we needed it too. Both are suffering from some ache or pain. Helen with her knees and me with my back. But we did get up early and go to the Show Grounds Markets. Bit slow, but Helen found a young lady who makes quite nice cards. Young, married with one 21 month old son and hubby she makes kids clothes and cards and tries to sell them at markets. Hubby is a magazine photographer and not making a huge amount of money either. He said that the photos he takes at Mt Panorama can't be sold without the permission of the companies who are depicted on the photo. He holds the copy write to the photo, but he must still seek permission to sell it. He said that most photos (if good) were bought by the companies or the car in the photograph and used in their own promotions later. He also shoots for other motoring magazines. Went back to the van for breakfast and back to the markets so that Helen could demonstrate her Cutterbug to the Card Lady, and she was quite impressed. From there into town to look for the Post Office and posted off our next batch of cards. Bathurst is well laid out, streets at right angles and all named as far as we could see. Older style street lighting in the centre, nice wide streets and some very old buildings. With a population of 35,000 Bathurst is going ahead and not stagnating like Lithgow. The Van park we are in is quite popular, vans and campers coming and going each day we have been here. And overhead we have aero planes towing gliders. I've seen 6 go up in the last 2 hours. It must be a popular sport down here. Heavy rain a minute ago, still overcast and patches of blue sky, but the forecast is for more rain. Just read the Sunday Telegraph with all the little snips of news from around Australia and overseas. A huge football section and masses of advertising and a TV Guide. News on the very hard to get Flu Vax and they predict that there will still be problems getting the shots up until June and it takes two weeks to work before providing some sort of immunity. Helen has had hers and I'm eating chocolate and honey and cinnamon to get my protection. While in Lithgow we were parked next to a pine tree and the yellow pollen was falling like snow. So I've attached two photos dealing with pollen. The Big Pond Saga is still going. I'm now on my next month of usage and this time the month has 31 days. But the 5 hours they said they were crediting my account with is still an ongoing saga. I wont be letting up! I'm keeping every email they send me and everthing I send them. The Big 4 has a network here too. It can be used at any Big 4 if you don't use all your time in one park. Supplied by Net4, is expensive Internet time at $10 per hour but vey fast connection.
