EMMYS in Los Angeles

This is my story and I am sticking to it.  I flew into LA after sitting for 5 hours on the tarmac in Dulles waiting for weather. Thank god it was Jet Blue... but us even  watching Travel Channel aboard a plane gets old after 5 hours!  The crew brought pizza on board at hour 4.. it was the least they could do.  Anyway, we arrived in Long Beach (because I only fly into Long Beach when I go to LA - much easier than LAX to navigate... trust me) and the Hertz rental counter was closed for the night.  I ended up renting from Avis and they gave me a garmin nuvi instead of my Matilda (aka Neverlost) and the damn thing took me through Compton!  I almost cried when I finally came upon the Beverly Hills sign.  I arrived without a problem and so the LA adventure began.  I met up with the team from Pineridge the next day and I also met up Robyn at the WPT.  We had lunch over at the Grove and I dropped some cash at the shops.  I love shopping in LA.  I also jumped over to kitson and Lisa Kline on Robertson before heading back to the hotel to get dressed for dinner.  I met up with Tracy Gallagher and Nancy Jacoby for dinner at Asia de Cuba inside the hotel.  The brought along an old boss of mine, Jay Feldman.  He looked great and it was fun to catch up with them.  Later that night, I went to bed.  I never stepped foot into that Sky Bar.  Nope... was not me.  The next day was the Emmys...so, I met up with Jillian for a quick lunch and ran some errands in the afternoon.  I then met up with Alex, Dov and Sid at the bar in the hotel to wait for our car.  We were a damn good looking crew.  I have to say.  We went to the emmys... yadda, yadda, yadda... we won.  Yup... take a look at the pix!  It was great.  Congrats to the Pineridge crew... to Howard Lee and to our Samantha Brown who is a bona fide rock star.  The next afternoon was a blur.. I know I went to Korea-town in LA to have lunch with Scott Martin to start talking about the China trip in September.  I also know that we went to a crazy Korean restaurant for lunch.  It was very cool.  That night, I met up with the Pineridge crew for drinks and a celebration dinner.  We had a blast using emmy as our ticket to the coolest table in the place.  She sat right out there sunning herself by the pool.  I love LA.

We went to the emmys... yadda, yadda, yadda... we won.
