Today was very long. I got up early and left my least favorite hotel, headed for Anderson, Indiana. One hour later I'm on a small christian university campus. It's peaceful and full of church bells. I met with a small classroom of students and a pre-law advisor over some pizza and very well thought out questions.

Then I have to be off to afternoon coffee with a couple of Oh So Friendly career counselors at Purdue, an hour in the other direction.

I make friends with some locals

After a very successful day, I begin my 2 hour drive to my hotel in Terre Haute Indiana. Through cornfields that never end, and tiny cemetaries just blocks from one another, I wind down Indiana's back country roads (thanks to my Garmin) until I find the main highway.

By the time I arrive at my destination, I'm so worn out I begin to feel sick. So I take advantage of the best feature at my hotel, the Hot Tub. Heaven!!! I'm rejuvenated in less than 15 minutes. So I take my hotel clerk's recommendation for dinner (see above). After such a great meal I'm feeling so good I decide to head to the bar across the street from my hotel, The Verve.

A perfect old building, with no lights but those on the bar, lots of crazy music memorabilia and art on the walls, and a classic curly haired leather braceletted bar tender who knows all of his customers by name. Of course I order the only drink they are out of, but it's alright. I make friends with some locals, one with an Arizona shirt on, one who's dad is a judge, and one who lights a new cig every 10 minutes. (you can still smoke in the bars here)

I finally call it quits and prepare for the next day.
