June 15:

Arrived in Winnipeg! Had a great trip - not with Greyhound! Last night, Jamie from Quebec and his dog showed up at the Thunder Bay Hostel on their way to Winnipeg. I got a ride :) much better than Greyhound, but I got dropped off at the outskirts of the city. I thought i will get a bit of the hitchhiker feeling (I would love to do it more...) but while I was writing my sign "WINNIPEG" a guy parked next to us. I asked... yes, he was on his way downtown. So I ended up going the last little bit with Matt from Winnipeg I got a tour through downtown, dropped off in front of the hostel and a phone number in case I "get lost or something". I wish I could hitchike a bit more - it's a great way to meet amazing people, but the way from Winnipeg to Calgary is too far and I was told it's too dangerous.

Gonna explore Winnipeg in the next 2 days... will let you know how I like it

June 17:

Winnipeg is... "different". Hard to explain and maybe I haven't found the "right" neighbourhoods, but the city seems a bit weird to me. I found some nice places (Osborne Village and Little Italy), but most of the town seems to be kind of dirty, run down and very poor - with the matching people running around. Well... I have seen it (always wannted to go to Winnipeg, don't know why) and I will leave to Calgary tomorrow evening.

June 18:

Thought I should write a short update... spend a nice couple of hours today biking in Winnipeg - there are some more nice places here!! Going on the bus for 18 hours soon :(
