I flew to LGA Saturday morning and took a cab to Gretchen's apartment on 61st and 2nd. I had plans to meet up with my friend Jason later in the day, but he generally is not ready for action until 2 at the earliest so I started out alone. I walked across to 5th Ave, then south to 34th St, then across to 8th Ave, and then south until I got lost in the West Village trying to find Jason's building. As usual. After some ado, I met up with Jason and we ate (breakfast for him, lunch for me, but beer all around). I was surprised when he agreed to walk around with me, since his preferred Saturday activity is sleeping. We walked over to the basketball courts and W 4th St, then over to Chinatown, then to City Hall Park (we saw the most interesting thing: a blind guy holding a big sign that read, "IS ANYONE WEARING A BLUE HAT?" Hmmm), then down to the WTC site, across Battery Park, and up Lexington until I could not walk anymore. I had foolishly worn my favorite Ann Taylor flip-flops for this entire trek, so Jason suggested a cab and some drinking. We went to South Street Seaport and refueled. After that I went home for a shower and then met up with Jason and his friend Bhavesh at Uvo, a kickass place on 92nd St that I could not see even when I was right in front of it. After a wonderful dinner, we went home. Good day! Exhausting. I am fairly confident I bruised a bone in my foot. A sacrifice to the great isle of Manhattan, I guess.

IS ANYONE WEARING A BLUE HAT?
