Today we hiked 7km of the Central Drakensberg mountains...Monk's Cowl.  An awesome hike as we kept uttering in disbelief that 'we're hiking in Africa'!  We can't wait to show you the photographs.

It was an amazing view, although I did sit down at one point to make out my last will and testament...half the climb was straight uphill...imagine staying on the stairmaster for 2 hours and you'll be able to understand our pain!!!

We were intimidated by a troop of baboons...five of them!  They sent us running in the opposite direction.  We were told they are more aggressive than bears and to give them whatever they try to take if they approach us.

We're staying in the most authentic rondavel...a hut with a thatched roof.  The hostel is great and the food is wonderful!  We''ll load pictures soon...I promise.  There are spiders here...in our room...a test of my ability to really live with the wild things!!!
