Oklahoma City reminded me a lot of Indianapolis. It seems like any other city. Then we went to the Memorial. It's a very powerful place. We went through the Museum. They have a recording that was being made of a utility hearing when the bomb exploded. It is just almost impossible to wrap your mind around it.
There are pictures of the victims - glass cases with assorted shoes, purses, and even eyeglasses found in the wreckage.
...all those empty chairs...

Walking over to the Memorial itself, it is breathtaking. They did a wonderful job with it. The Reflection Pool is beautiful. Looking across the pool, one can see the field of chairs. That drives home the enormity of the loss - all those empty chairs - some of them little representing the children that lost their lives that day.
The chain link fence with all the mementoes from all over the world, and notes of condolence. A sad chapter of history. I was in tears by the time we left.
