We flew back into Mexico DF... not such a bad metropolis in its own right.

Ok, ok, so this day wasn't actually part of the "trip", per se.  But I just didn't want to believe our fantastic, custom-planned-for-over-a-year vacation was OVER.  What a let-down.  All that looking at websites, perusing forums, reading reviews, collating guidebooks, & poring over maps ... all for a mere three weeks that were now OVER. To harken back to the theater reference with which I started the trip ("Break a leg, Kathy!"), this was definite "post-production blues."

But the whole trip to Peru "seems like a dream to me now."

As I wrote in my journal:

This was definite post-production blues.

Well, the"trip of a lifetime" to Peru is now history. I'm writing this during our Primera Plus bus ride to Queretaro, & just thinking how bizarre it is that only 12 hours earlier we were just finishing up with our "farewell/birthday dinner" at Rosa Nautica in Lima f___ing Peru! The trip went SO fast. & it already seems like years ago.  There must be a name for this feeling... jet-lag maybe... but to me it feels like the air is being let out of my balloon.   WOO-O-SH... splat.

And you hear in a tiny, helium, chipmunk voice, " We had a great time!"
