I never knew it could be so painful climbing up stairs.  Any type of movement of my knees - sitting up/ sitting down/ walking is painful.  I guess this too shall pass, but man it is inconvenient - I never realized how many steps I walk up and down in a typical day.

I'm still hanging out with Marie and Damion, and we are back in a city - yah!  We are somewhat funny looking, hobbling around, but when we explain about the mountain thing people sympathize and mention how really tough the mountain is to climb.  I finally feel somewhat dry, and it felt so good to take a nice hot shower at the guest house (Malaysia is very good about having hot showers).  Uh, we still stink though, since everything we have is nice and mouldy smelling now (especially our shoes and bags), but I guess you can't win 'em all.

Since we all have a day to kill in Kota Kinabalu we decide to take a day trip to a nearby beach easily reachable by boat.  When we arrive we discover there is a fee for laying on the beach, and you know who runs this park - it is those fuckers at Sutera Sanctuaries!  Man, I hate those guys.  Oh well, the beach was okay -and the water was perfect for aching muscles.  In the evening we decided to go out and celebrate our last night together, the next morning I head back to KL and Marie and Damion are heading to Brunei.  And after KL I head to ...hm, I should really figure this out.
