Well, we continued our drive down the west coast of New Zealand. I can understand why it is so green as it was raining non-stop for over a day. We made a few cool stops on our way to Lake Mahinupua. Including checking out the pancake rocks - which well, look like giant stacks of pancakes. There were also dolphins in the bay - so that was cool to see.

That night we were staying at this 'special' stopover location which was basically a hostel out in the middle of nowhere that was run by an 80 something year old man. And, every night as a different tour bus plows through there is a dress up party at his pub. This man was amazing he was still pouring drinks at 12:30! But, the theme of the party as bin bags. Which I would call garbage bags. So - you were only allowed to wear a costume made out of plastic bags. I had no idea what to do and the amount of ideas for things we could be seemed to grow the more you thought about it. I settled on a penguin and whipped up my costume. My fellow roommates were dressed up as a pirate, fairy, and tweedle dee and dum. Then we went to the party with the rest of the bus was and the creativity was great. Bride and groom, the flinestones, guys dressing like girls (I swear they loved it too much), and lots more. Including another penguin! But, I seemed to be a hit for some reason. Everyone wanted a picture with me - I felt like a character at Disneyland for the first bit. But, after a fun night - the next morning prizes were awarded and I won second prize which was boogie boarding down the river in Queenstown worth $130! Sweet! Can't complain. And, it's not like the costume cost me much! Plus, my roommates the pirate and fairy won the first and third prizes. Our room swept the competition!

My night as a penguin!

My sister is currently holidaying in NZ. She is at present living in Wellington and is planning on traveling north towards Hawke’s Bay. Is there anything interesting she must check out in Hawke’s bay?

My friend and I are planning a trip to Auckland NZ, I’d like to know where I could find good places to stay at [not too expensive].
