Returned again to Seattle area and stayed 7 weeks.  Spent one weekend in downtown Seattle at the Sheraton.  OK hotel but not a 4 as rated.

The best part of this trip was the Argosy Cruise line.  I had intended to take an Alaskan cruise on NCL but my travel buddy could not make it so we did two mini cruises via the Seattle tradition of Argosy cruise line.  For the $ this is the best deal in Seattle.

mini cruises are great in Seattle

The Locks cruise opened my eyes a little wider to the hugeness of Seattle.  In Lake Union we passed by a floating house where "Sleepless In Seattle" was filmed and also passed by some of the now famous boats of "The Deadliest Catch."

The next cruise included a very decent meal, and sitting right off Seattle in Elliot Bay to watch tug boat races.

Neither cruise was crowded but well booked.  Staff was absolutely the best of hospitality.

Next trip to Seattle is by train from New Orleans on the "City of New Orleans"..like the song, then a connection in Chicago onto the "Empire Builder".  This is a trip I saw once on a newsreel as a kid and finally will make this August.  If you are old enough to remember the newsreels at the movies you are a boomer like me...or older.

Trying to get to the Caribbean with no luck so far.  New Orleans no longer has flights to Mexico, Belize, etc.
