Day 10-32 Thailand.

First stop, Bangkok. (Day 10 -14) A short 25 hour bus journey. The Thia people are very friendly and if you've been Bangkok before you'll know that all the people that stop you are English teachers and they work in the building across the road and they'll inform you that the place you want to go and see is closed and you should visit the place they advise you to see – which is open! Crazy. At first we thought what lovely man and then as the day went we realised that every person said the same thing and it was a Thai guy from Phuket who said don't believe them if they say something is closed because it's not. Why they say that we haven't quite worked out. Anyway the main attraction in Bangkok is the Grande Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. The Temple was fantastic. The detail that went into creating the complex is staggering. Never seen anything quite like it. We also had the priveledge of attending a Thai wedding. Jag's friend from work was getting married and we were invited. Very cultural. And we noticed some similarities to Punjabi weddings in their ceremonies. We also went on a boat trip on the river to observe how some of the people in Bangkok lived.

If they say something is closed - it's not
