This is another cheat entry in the blog, just to put a pin in the map at the most southerly point of our travels, Punto Arenas. Punta Arenas is a sprawling town with a population of 125,000 situated in a bleak and windy part of Southern Patagonia on the Strait of Magellan. It is the jumping off point for people heading south to Terra del Fuego, Ushuaia and perhaps even further to Antarctica (not for us on this trip, but some day !!). Here we spent one night before flying via Santiago to Buenos Aires, finally bidding farewell to the Andes which we have followed since the start of the trip in October.
