Biking Round the UN

After a quick train ride from Lyon we hit Geneva, check in to the City Hostel and then out again to rent some bikes for free! Well you pay a deposit and as long as you don`t end up in the lake or bring them back a mangled wreck then you get your quids back:-) Of course it's so windy when we arrive (we've brought the bad weather with us - betcha it`s scorching in Ireland now!) that Geneva`s most famous landmark - Jet d`Eau is turned off, anyways not to worry, we're off to cycle round the Palais des Nations for a bit. Mental note to self - must not follow Derek on a bicycle.....found myself pedalling furiously to try and keep up, while he bobbed and weaved through the rush hour mayhem. After we arrive back to the hostel we meet an American couple who convince us to ditch our plans to go to Lucerne and to go to the Mountain Hostel in Gimmelwald insted - where they`ve just come from. We don`t need too much convincing...the website with its images of striking mountain views and the outdoor hot tub seal the deal, we`re off there in the morn!
