Breathtaking Trek and Machu Picchu

after a couple of nites in cusco...gettin used to the altitude again...got picked up to go on the Salkantay trek at 6.00am.!!

this is the hardest trek of them all..goin up2 altitude of 4600m..!!

first day of walkin was ok...quite lite..did abt 7 hrs..startiing at cruz pata alt 3200m..walking steadily upwards to campsite of 3800m..

lunch was amazin....prepared by the cook...surprisinngly gud veggie food...seriously gud..and when i say that...u know wot that means..!!

camp was bloody freezin...!!!!!!..temp of abt -3 degrees...!!!

nxt day was D-day...had the major climb to 4600m...passing between Salkantay mountain and another 1 which i cant remeber the name..!!

the views were amazin....BREATHTAKING....but breathing was near to impossible...grasping for air every 10 steps..!!

after which was all downhill...very tiring on the knees..to campsite..which had loads of mosquitoes...due to the lower altitutud..!!

next day...was probbaly the toughest...on walked 6km...but all uphill and downhil terrain...very tiring...and the emergence of blisters made it worse..!!...took 7 hrs to cover..

after reaching la playa..toook bus to campsite at santa teresa...

this nite was funny..met a few brits....they got sooo pissed..even their guides and porters...they were chattin unbeleivable shit..!!...and considering they all had to walk the nxt day.,..was even more funny for us..!

nxt day...santa teresa...to agua calientes...very loong walk...set out at like 7.00am...passin hydroelectrica....the backside of machu pichu...eating farm fresh...extremely cheap bananas and passion fruit on the way..

got there at like 4.00pm...cheked into the hostel..had a niiice hopt shower afta 4 days..!!!!!

nxt day was the climax...got up for sunrise...and got to machu pichu...!!

this is an amzin site..one of the best i hav seen..totally BREATHTAKING...the pics i took....dont justify the enormity and scale of this place....and the views were totally outstanding...

the loooong 4 days of trekking was certainly worth it...!!!...as machu pichu failed to dissappoint..!!!

the climbed wanapichu.,.one of the most dangerous things i have done...with steps barely big enugh to fit ure feet on..and angling downwards...

goin up was easy...cumin down was another story...!!!

newys...finished this...then got the train bak frm aguas calientes..to olyamtanbo...bein picked up..and transferred to cusco..

now 2nite...get the bus to puno..see lake titicaca 2mrw for half day...then cross the border to bolivia..and stay the nite in copacabana....
