We stayed the night at the Comfort Hotel, very small rooms but very clean and very friendly an helpful staff. We went out for a meal and found a Japanese restaurant that served very nice food, they cooked the food and then brought it to your table where you had a heated hot plate to keep it piping hot. We had chicke, beansprouts, noodles and vegetables. When we asked for the bill they misunderstood and tried to serve us a repeat meal.
In the morning we visited the castle of Himeji which is 400 years old and was not damaged during the war, although the castle was completely taken down in 1955 and rebuilt with the original materials we had a English speaking guide who made the visit much more interesting, every time we went inside the building we had to remove shoes and out on slippers. The castle was used in the Bond film You Only Live Twice. After visiting the castle we then visited the town gardens.

In the afternoon we caught the bullet train for the last time to make our way to Tokyo.
