... and the world's your oyster.  But apparently only if you're not jetlagged.  I've been having so much trouble sleeping at night.  I'm usually a great sleeper and Mark's terrible.  But he's been falling asleep immediately at night and I've been tossing and turning.  It's supposed to be the other way around.  I have a feeling that tonight will be much better.

We've been seeing lots of temples and ruins.  We've also been figuring out how to negotiate and navigate Bangkok.  Maybe I'll tell those stories at another time when I'm not feeling so much like a zombie.  But just as we're figuring out how to not get taken advantage of, we're about to leave.  We leave for Chiang Mai tomorrow.

Hey Cristina - you hyped up your Thai mosquitoes as being wickedly ferocious!  So far, I'm not impressed.  I only have 3 mosquito bites so far.  Taiwan's moquitoes would kick Thailand's mosquitoes' butts... any day.  Any night.  Any dusk or dawn.  I will grant that Thailand's mosquitoes chose really annoying places to bite - my feet!

Also, I haven't seen any of the desserts that Christina recommended.  Hopefully some time soon.

More of what we're actually doing and seeing (with photos) later.

I find that the mosquetos enjoy suckling on ankles especially when you're trying to enjoy a meal. Less bites when you're actively moving away from them. Though, I think talking smack this early in the game is tempting fate big time.

Well, the mosquitos are nasty if you aren't using DEET that's so strong it burns! I never used DEET, which is probably another reason I got bit a lot. I think it also depends on how much it has rained this past month. Maybe they've become tamer since I've been, but I would usually get more than 3 bites a day. I didn't stay in an enclosed hotel room but an open air house, which probably helps a lot. Keep looking for the desserts. You may have better luck going to a big shopping center with a food court. They usually will make a variety of desserts and fresh too. The green worms thing in coconut milk should be pretty easy to find. Good luck in your tasty adventures!

I haven't been using the burning DEET... cause it burns. I washed the DEET off as soon as I put it on because I don't like feeling like I'm on fire. I don't know if mosquitoes understand trash talk.

Hi Ranyee. I don't know about Asian mosquitoes, but I can tell you that Minneapolis has some pretty ferocious ones, and then New Zealand has sand flies whose bites are nasty. Anyway, glad things are going well with you all.
