Day 1

The flight into Rome was "Pure Dead Brillaint", after leaving Glasgow with the pouring rain and the freezing cold, we glided through the clear blue skys with the scorching sun into Rome ciampino.  The plane journey into Rome provided us with spectular views of the whole of Rome including our first sight of the famous colosseum.  We had arranged for an airport pick-up from the airport to our hotel, and was praying that it turned up unlike our pick-up in krakow.  However when we got to arrivels the same thing happened we couldn't see our name anywhere.  But this time we had a contact number, so we phoned Gianni to ask where he was, and he said that he was there waiting on us, so we looked again but still couldn't see him and it turned out that he was waiting at departures instead of Arrivels.  After introducing himself he took our luggage and guided us to the car.  He gave us a guided tour on the way to the hotel, his english was quite good, but said he needed some practice so spooke non-stop the whole journey, but we didn't mind beacuse he was a real character lol.  He also told us how in rome the horn is like their music, and if you go to Rome you will find this out as soon as you leave the airport - the drivers are crazy in Rome and giaani also told us a lot of people call him "Speedy Gonzales ?"  After Arriving at our hotel
