Ferry ride and dinner in Nierstein

After checking into our hotel (a run-of-the-mill Holiday Inn Express) we wandered randomly in the car.  We happened upon a ferry at sunset that took us across the RHine to the towns of Nierstein and Oppenheim.  In Oppenheim we tried to get to St. Katherine's but it was closed (it has a Lily window!)  but found an amazing little wine cellar/garden where we had some beautiful local wine.  The garden was filled with steel sculptures lit up from within and the people were gracious.  SIgh.  SO sad to leave Germany, we went back to Frankfurt...
