So I arrived in Ljubljana, the first city of many of my 3 week journey through Eastern Europe..  It was quite late at night when I arrived and I still was not feeling the best from the night before so I found my hostel, went for a quick bite to eat before heading to bed...

Today I got up early to explore Ljubljana, starting with the old town square and the Triple Bridge.  The city reminds me of Prague and also some parts of Italy with the cobblestone and very narrow streets and small markets in the city centre.  I did even manage to nearly kill myself by thinking I was fit enough to climb to the top of the mountain where the castle was situated.  Never again?!  The steep path leading to the castle was very impressive though as the mix of orange & yellow leaves had fallen on it.  You can enter the castle courtyard but have to pay to climb to the top for the apparently stunning 360* views - I didn't see any point as the fog was thick and I probably wouldn't have been able to see anything.  Just time for a quick spot of lunch before catching the train to Rijeka.
