I love the house on the lake.  Its amazing how much anxiety I get planning to go to the lake.  I then get there and I realize how amazingly beautiful it is up there.  Its like going home to that small town that everyone knows you... getting coffee at the general store in town and shopping at Walmart for food.  Its real life and it brings you back to the family thing.  I loved our small church that had the bake sale this weekend and the ladies at the laundry that knew Eva by the end of the week.  It was peaceful.. no cell... no e-mail.. no blogs... just vacation.  I read a lot of smut.  I must have read every rag on the shelf... and I also flew through a Stephen King book.  Eva loved riding in the boat and playing with her daddy in the water. She called the lake "the bubbles" - which is a term of endearment.  That kid could play with bubbles for hours.  Too bad it is such a mess or I would just set her up and let her go at it!   I also took her to the park in Hague.. she loved playing on the slide and she fell asleep on the swing.  We rented an island for a picnic and we also took the boat into town for the July 4th fireworks.  Sounds quaint... minus the rain.  The kids took cover under a blanket with me and we shot a "we are going down" goodbye message.  Never mind that we were supposed to be shooting the firworks... it was too much fun to pass up. Thats really all we did.. 17 people in one house wit 2 bathrooms is just what it sounds like... chaos.  We did play a mean game of pictionary... men vs women.  We won.  Oh, yeah... forgot to mention that I had a spa treatment at the Sagamore Resort.  It was wonderful.  They just went through a renovation and only opened this season.  The spa area is beautiful.. but still a bit pricey for the area.  Not that that held me back.
