As you all know Nice is the beautiful city I am staying in. We have been lucky enough to have had great weather - or so we've been told. We were able to have all of the month of September off of school to lay on the beach and soak up the sun. Even when school did start in October we were still at the beach.

In December there was a winter market with a ferris wheel and an ice rink. We only went once but it really helped with the Christmas spirit!

As we have all learned to say over here any time something goes wrong "C'est la France!!"

The night life in Nice is great. We usually end up at a bar called "Waynes". Obviously from the name it is not a French bar. Its a small bar where it gets crazy at night. They also have great food and cheap drinks until 9pm (Cheap by France Standards). We soon found out there are many ladies nights that happen through out the week.

  1. Mondays at Checkpoint - 3 Euro all you can drink red/white/rose wine and Champagne
  2. Tuesday at Thor - 3 Euro all you can drink red/white/rose wine and champagne
  3. Thursday at Waynes - 2 Euro all you can drink red/white/rose wine and champagne
  4. Any night Miche's boyfriend is working at Paddy's and his boss isn't around - Free wine!!
Now, when I first thought of France I thought of: love, beautifulness, fast paced, nice people....but boy was I wrong. Its actually the complete opposite: men who yell things like "I want to come home with you" (put in a much nicer way here) to you from across the street, piles of dog poo everywhere you step - so much that they clean the streets and sidewalks every night, people who seem to take their time whether you are in a grocery store or at a restaurant and finally French people who think you are American and treat you like dirt. As we have all learned to say over here any time something goes wrong "C'est la France!!"
