Before he left for an English new year, I quickly took him up to Iguassu to see the falls, which was great to see again.. I don´t think it´s possible to get bored of them?

The fantastic time had was tempered somewhat by seeing the horrific footage of the Tsunami hitting Indonesia and Southern Thailand on CNN as we checked into our hotel. Was even more sobering for the realisation I would have been there & embroiled in it all were it two months later. Brought it home to me in a very big way.

The ground couldn´t open up & swallow me fast enough!

All in all it was great having Dad around, eating great steak & drinking mucho vino tinto at all the best restaurants (on him! hehe!) All good EXCEPT for a habit he has that i´ve never ever noticed before now.. Since we were ickle kids, he´s always called Aysha (my little sis) and me "Love" and/or "Babes" (Um, it´s affectionate!!) On a 4hr bus journey full of travellers going from El Calafate to Chalten and I ask him a very simple question, to which he replies "no babes"... Arrrrrrgggggh!! Now when you consider that my Dad´s a 56yr old white guy & i´m a 28yr old big black man, you can only imagine the looks I clocked from at least 4 people that turned their heads!!... I didn´t have to imagine them, and the ground couldn´t open up & swallow me fast enough! He - as you´d expect - was oblivious to all of this! But it´s cool and I trained him by the end of his holiday!!
