The sun, sand and surf of Waikiki Beach was a welcome relief from our tearful farewell and long flights to Hawaii. Four days to enjoy the beach, go snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, visit the Waikiki aquarium, see hula dancers and hike up Diamond Head crater. Our hotel was farily central to the beach, which was busy but not overcrowded. This part of our journey gave us a chance to relax and catch our breath before the real adventure begins.
