A great city to start from there a lot to do - take in the Cairo Museum, take in the pyramids, ride horses accross the desert from the pyramids of Giza to Saquara - but don't wear sandals like I did - you're feet will get cut to shreds!!
The surprise to me was how close the pyramids were to the city - everyone take their photos with the with their backs to the city facing the pyramids against a desert background!!!
