Scooterooo, surfing and the ranch

We had heard of town of 1770, which was ment to be cheap for surf lessons and other activities compared to the whole east coast. So we decided to go there and booked at a resort which jad only been open 3 weeks.

When we got there, the girl said we haven;t got any dorm rooms left we'll have to put you in one of our doubles. But these were expensive, so she gave us a really cheap deal which only worked out 5 dollers more than a dorm room, plus we had our own bathroom, tv and it looked out onto a little paddock with a horse. It was the best place we've stayed at, and I'm sure it won't be defeated!

We decided to go surfing the next day. We got our lycra tops on and had soft boards which were massive, but I was still rubbish, Matt got it fine but the waves caught the better of me and when I saw a jelly fish, I knew it wasn't for me!

We lazed about in 1770, went to the only pub in town and then on our last night we had been told by everyone to do the scooteroo tour. You hire chopper motorbikes and ride round 1770 looking for roos and then watch the sunset at the end.

I was really scared at first, but the roads were so clear it wasn't too bad, we saw some little kangeroos and pelicans while watching the sunset. I was with the slow crowd at the back of the convoy of bikes, but still really ace.

Had to get up at 5:30 am to get our bus and was really sad to leave, but next was frazer Island!
