Have a mentioned yet that Europe is wearing on us? We have spent about $7000 already.
We woke up this morning in a panic because we didn´t have anywhere to stay. I was booking a hostel in Valencia the night before when the staff kicked me off of the computer (No internet past 9 PM? Why?).
When I woke up and started looking again EVERYTHING WAS BOOKED! I did, however find a bus ticket for only €12 (a quarter of many others).
We decided just to wing it and head down to Valencia. I wrote down a few phone numbers. We spent 3 hours on the internet trying to find a place that had space for use.
We hopped the bus at 16:15. The driver had a wierd problem with feet being anywhere by on the floor in front of you, as if you were a statue. He even got angry when I crossed my legs. Freak.
The ride was about 4 hours, a medium ride. When we arrived I was starting to feel even more hopelesness. I made a few calls, nothing. Difficulty working the phone. Finally got an answer. TWO BEDS LEFT! The best rated hostel in the whole city!
We went over to the city bus stop and spent about 20 minutes with an old local couple. doing sign language and broken spanish taken from our vocabulary of less than 100 words. The were extremely nice, so helpful. Good first impression of the city. I think that the lady was trying to tell Amy that she is going to burn in hell for being Chinese, not sure though.
When the bus came they told us to get on, they and another lady had a conversation with the bus driver on our behalf. We sat down and rode. When we got to our stop, half of the people on the bus turned around and told us and motioned to us that this is where to get off, cool. As the bus drove by leaving us at the exact correct stop, the driver and at least 5 others waved goodbye and smiled. Good second impression.
When we arrived at the hostal, the girl was so nice. We checked in (Two nights in one place!). We were so impressed witht he place that we are considering staying a third night. We´ll wait and see what the city is like though.
We walked to the market and bought groceries. I made chicken ceasar. Have you noticed that I have been healthy for the entire trip? Amy is starting to get a rash on her fash. Whine whine.
Met some super cool American girls, and artist and a fashion designer. They are taking us out "Partying" on Sunday.
That´s all for now. BYE!
