Driving to the Westfjords

This was one long driving day from Akureyri to Holmavik. It was one of my driving days and I will not make fun of Alaskan roads anymore because Icelandic roads are even less modern!
We went to a neat turf museum in Glaumbær, where they have old buildings from when they used to build them of turf. The walls are insane, I don´t know if I could live in something that is pretty much dirt! And they fit so much inside! We had lunch there are their tearoom - hot chocolate and some cake with rhubarb jam for me, very yum. Even the tearoom was cramped and we were served with old china, like we were still part of the museum. Jubie had a skyr cake, made of our favorite yogurt. Very sweet.
I drove through some scary road construction - apparently there are no such thing as flag people here to help motorists get through it. Still, the views are great (though I was afraid we would be launched into some of them, say the ocean) and we were lucky to get to Holmavik, where we stayed in a very peaceful little farmhouse. They even had a tv with one channel!
