Our first over-night bus journey (of 12 hours) brings us to Hoi An, arriving around 7am. The sleeping tablets we took definitely had some effects although I can't say if they were all positive. When we got to the hotel we all decided to hit the sack. I woke up very groggy and as I haven't been wearing a watch, looked at Matt's electronic alarm. It said 4pm so I thought wow that was some sleep (but after all the partying in Nah Thrang not surprising). I decided to have a shower and go have some 'lunch'. In hindsight I don't why I didn't realise it but; first for lunch I was shown the breakfast menu, then I dropped laundry down to reception (who said it would be finished this afternoon) which had me perplexed given the time, and then after checking my mail (thinking the computer's clock was wrong) I finally realised some time later it was only 11am :o)

Hoi An, although much smaller and more relaxed than Nah Thrang, is still very beautiful. It has a great beach and alot of historical things to see in the Old Town. This is also the place to be if you want anything made - there are clothing/tailor shops everywhere. Myself and Kev were tempted to get a suit (given the number of weddings it appears on the horizon haha) but in the end just opted for a custom made black shirt - not bad for $10.
Beautiful Hoi An - clothing/tailor shop everywhere..

We've decided to gain some time; so tomorrow we take an early morning flight from Denang (30km away) to Hanoi (1.15 hours) thus unfortunately skipping Hue but missing out on a 6 hour and then a 13.5 hour bus journey - effectively 2 days on the road.
