10/11/06 We started the morning with a leisurely climb to the top of the castle hill. From the 1st to the 5th century but has been rebuilt several times since the 9th centtury. The castle burnt down in 1811 so is now relatively new looking. From the castle there are fantastic views over the river and also over the old town. After the castle we wandered around the old town and through Michael's Tower. Our hostel was situated just above the old town across from the presidential palace and the Crowne Plaza. Today I saw a whole heap of police cars escorting some expensive looking black cars with dark windows out of the hotel - must have been something going on!
