Trekking and enjoy Hot Spring

I've not read up about Korea and I've no idea where to visit in Korea. As I was going to Hong Kong to visit my Hong Kong friend (I friend), she suddenly told me she wants to go Korea; another hometown friend (V friend) was in Hong Kong too. When I heard it, I was planning to join them for this trip, so I've arrange my flight to Hong Kong and then arrange another flight to fly from Hong Kong to Korea.

Of course it is much expensive to have such arrangement but I've already make appointment with one of the Hong Kong friend (G friend) so I was trying to full fill it instead of miss the appointment.

V friend and I, we fly to Korea a few days early, as there was no flight for me to go on the same day as my Hong Kong friends.

I've no idea where to go, all arrangement was done by "V" friend and I friend of mine. Immediately when we landed the Korea airport, we took a down town bus from the airport went to town and from there, we took a train to our youth hostel.

It was really cold in Korea during the month of December, we had two layer of warm clothes on but we still felt cold, with no choice, we had to purchase a hat to cover our ears too.

We visited the world larges church in Korea; we couldn't understand their language during the service, so we end up came out of the service.

We visited Kyongbok Palace, visited their 24 hours shopping center, try their local foods, different style of noodles with “Kim Chi” (a form of vegetables).

On our second nights, on our way back to the youth hostel, it was snowing….wow…. we were so excited to see snow falling down like the rain. That night we sent email to inform our Hong Kong friends to bring enough warm clothes.

The day we meet with our Hong Kong friends (I & L friends) it was New Year eve. That night we took a train down to a place where the Korean will celebrate together on the street; the road was close for that purpose. We will there for a few hours and then count down for year 2002, walk over to year 2003.

We visited Nami Island (1 Jan'2003) where the famous Korea movie shooting was done there, my “I” friend was crazy over Korea show, so she wanted to visit those places where she saw on the movie. When we were in Nami Island, it was at late afternoon, approaching to evening, the sky was already dark, we can't really explore further, have to take the last ship back.

On the next day (2 Jan'2003), we took a bus to Mount Sorak; it was one of the places where the Korea movie has shooting over there. Wow…. Mount Sorak was fill with snow all over the area; we were very excited to see snow. As we walk along the snow area, the road was wet and slippery; my “I” friend fell a few times on her first day arrived in Mount Sorak.

At night, we went to their hot spring, wow… it was really fun and relaxing, there were outdoor hot spring and indoor hot spring too. There were two type of indoor hot spring, one was normal hot spring which male and female can be use together, another type of indoor hot spring can be found inside the toilet area (female and male separated), inside toilet hot spring, their rule is; in order to use it, you got to be naked in the hot spring.

Well, in order to experience the toilet indoor hot spring, we did it as it was instructed to follow.

After the hot spring, we felt very relaxing; we had a good sleep throughout the night.

The next day (3 Jan'2003), we went up to Mount Sorak National Park for trekking. It was a fun day trekking on snow, this was our first time trekking on snow, and it was very slippery to walk on snow. All of us, easy fell as we walk, our “I” friend fell the most times, until she hurts her back bone tail, it was very painful for her but we were enjoying so much fun that she didn't think so much about her pain.

We had “snow war fare” a few times, until everyone of us were fill with snow all over our head, face and body, we were like little kids playing (ha..ha…) we even had video down some part of the fun we had, this video clip has brought us so much joy whenever we view at it, it was a fun trip to Korea.

So sorry, we were having so much fun that I've forgotten to take some photo on the surronding area.

If you have chance to go Mount Sorak, do remember to go visit the hot spring, I believe, you will enjoy it.
