Gertie, el gato tiene miedo

Again, improvising on the Spanish a little, I think I said, "Gertie, the cat is afraid!"

Gertie is preparing for my trip by attempting to hide herself underneath a single piece of tissue paper from a recently opened birthday gift (my birthday, not hers - she's not even 1!). Under a rug I've seen. Inside a plastic bag I've seen, but a single piece of tissue paper, white tissue paper, come on. What sort of hiding place does that offer? Perhaps she is experiencing anticipatory grief around my trip. Perhaps she's anxious over the worry that no-one will feed her while I'm gone. Or perhaps she's exhausted from having her limbs chewed on by Rowan, and just trying to find some respite. (will post very soon a picture of Rowan, my already very sad looking cocker spaniel, also dreading my trip).

I think I said, "Gertie, the cat is afraid!"

A little anthropomorphizing never hurt anyone.
